Washing Instructions –

Proper care and washing will help maintain the fabric’s quality and longevity. Here are some tips for washing and caring for georgette sarees:

  • Use a mild detergent or a gentle fabric wash.
  • Avoid using harsh detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners, as they can damage the fabric.
  • Soak: Fill a basin or a tub with lukewarm water and add a small amount of mild detergent. Gently agitate the water to create suds. Submerge the saree and let it soak for about 15-20 minutes to loosen dirt and stains.
  • Gently agitate: Gently swish the saree in the soapy water, but avoid aggressive scrubbing or wringing, as georgette fabric is delicate.
  • Rinse: Drain the soapy water and refill the basin with clean, lukewarm water.
  • Gently rinse the saree by swishing it in the clean water until all detergent is removed.
  • Avoid excessive wringing: When removing excess water from the saree, be very gentle.
  • Do not twist or wring it too hard, as georgette can easily get damaged.
  • Instead, gently press the water out by pressing the saree between clean, dry towels.
  • Drying: Lay the saree flat on a clean, dry towel to remove excess water.
  • Roll up the towel with the saree inside to blot out more water. Then, hang the saree on a padded hanger to air dry.
  • Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources, as they can cause the colors to fade and the fabric to weaken.
  • Ironing: If necessary, use a cool iron on the reverse side of the saree to remove wrinkles.
  • Always place a clean cotton cloth between the iron and the saree to prevent direct contact.
  • Storage: Store your georgette sarees in a cool, dry place.
  • Avoid hanging them with heavy sarees or clothes that could stretch or damage the delicate fabric.
  • It’s a good idea to fold georgette sarees and store them in a breathable cotton or muslin saree bag to protect them from dust and insects.
  • Stain removal: If you spill something on your georgette saree, try to blot the stain gently with a clean, white cloth. Do not rub the stain, as this can push it further into the fabric. For stubborn stains, consider consulting a professional cleaner.

By following these care tips, you can ensure your georgette sarees stay in good condition and retain their beauty for a long time.
